AdminCloverAug-30-2025 6:25 AMFlowervale Street is hitting theaters next March and there are a lot of indicators suggesting it could be the next Cloverfield movie, but there are a few issues with that speculation.
For one, Cloverfield 4 is supposed to be a direct follow up to the first movie set in 2008. Flowervale Street takes place in the 1980s.
Secondly, the writer / director for Flowervale Street is David Robert Mitchell – the Cloverfield sequel was being directed by Babak Anvari with a screenplay by Joe Barton.
Thirdly, Flowervale Street is a Warner Brothers production, whereas Cloverfield was (and we assume still is) a Paramount Pictures property – unless the IP quietly changed hands and we don't know.
Fourthly, Flowervale Street involves Dinosaurs – not giant Monsters or a deadly virus. Unless the Dinosaur angle is a huge misdirect to keep us from realizing it's actually a Cloverfield movie, the two plot lines don't match up.
The only tether connecting these two potential movies into one is the fact J.J. Abrams is attached as a producer via Bad Robot and that both movies are sci-fi thriller mysteries.
Now, I'm basing my arguments and comparisons on years-old information we've known about Cloverfield 4, so it is very very possible the plans and plot direction for the film had changed over the years. But as it stands, I'm not 100% convinced Flowervale Street is Cloverfield 4.
What do you think?
